Emptiness,
the gray sand dunes,
where the elderly,
feed on prunes,
and tea.

Soullessness,
the waterless ocean,
where the fish,
on each other lean,
and rot.

Lovelessness,
the dead heart,
where the blood,
still flows to part,
and dry.

Look into the mirror,
what do I see?
A hollow wreck of man,
staring back at me.

Oh, so wretched,
with a crooked smile.
Mesmerized I am,
for a little while.

As days fade,
so do we.
No one in the mirror,
looking back at me.
